My husband wh.ipp.ed me 20 times because of his silver-tongued mistress. I immediately called my billionaire father: ”Dad, just as you told me, destroy his life.” Five minutes later, he was completely stunned and collapsed…

Part 2 of 2

Thalia stood up abruptly, her face turning pale. “What is happening here?”

I kept the phone pressed tightly to my ear. “Thank you, Father.”

He stared down at me, his eyes wide. “Who exactly is your father?”

I wiped a streak of blood from my lip. “The man who begged me not to marry a predator like you.”

The assistant swallowed hard, his hands shaking. “Sir, there is more bad news. The main capital firm has officially withdrawn every single credit guarantee.”

His face drained of all color, leaving him looking sickly.

That firm was the invisible, iron spine of his entire business empire. Without their backing, his luxury real estate developments, private jet leases, and political connections would collapse like a house of cards.

Thalia blinked, her voice trembling. “They withdrew their support?”

I slowly pushed myself up, gripping the edge of the mahogany table for support. Pain screamed through my back, but I refused to let myself collapse again.

“My name,” I announced to the room, “is not the one you have been using.”

His breathing became shallow and rapid.

“It is actually the daughter of the family that owns that capital firm,” I said.

The assistant dropped his tablet, his eyes widening in realization.

Thalia whispered, “That cannot be true.”

I smiled faintly at her terror. “It is entirely true.”

He took a stumbling step backward, as if the floor had suddenly shifted beneath his feet. “You said you wanted nothing to do with your family’s business.”

“I did not want to involve them,” I corrected him. “I simply wanted to know if you were capable of loving me when you believed I had absolutely nothing.”

His eyes darted around the room, searching for an exit.

There it was, the ugly, belated answer to my question.

Thalia recovered first, her voice rising in a screech. “She is lying to us. She would have used that name years ago if she were actually important.”

“I did not need to use the name,” I said, my voice cutting through her panic. “I was the only reason you were ever invited into the rooms you were never qualified to enter.”

He lunged toward me, his face twisted in a rage. “You planned this whole thing?”

“No,” I replied. “You planned your own downfall.”

The heavy front doors opened once again.

This time, four massive private security officers marched in, followed by a sharp woman in a navy suit clutching a tablet.

“I am Maya, general counsel for the parent group,” she said. “Mrs. Vale, your father has authorized immediate protective measures.”

Thalia stepped behind him for protection. “This is a nightmare.”

Maya looked directly at him. “Sir, every investment connected to your firm has been terminated for cause. We have secured extensive evidence of corporate embezzlement, forged collateral statements, and systemic misuse of marital assets.”

His knees weakened, and he collapsed onto a nearby stool.

I looked at the leather riding crop he was still clutching.

“And assault,” I added, my voice cold.

Five minutes after my initial call, the entire empire he had built began to disintegrate before his eyes.

His phone kept flashing with notifications from the board chairman, banks, attorneys, and anonymous sources.

He accidentally answered one call on speakerphone.

A furious, booming voice exploded through the rotunda. “What in the hell did you do? They pulled their funding, and the lenders are demanding immediate repayment of all debts! Reporters are calling us about massive fraud allegations!”

He shouted, “Just shut up and listen to me!”

Maya raised her tablet, looking utterly bored. “It is far too late for that. The emergency board vote has just passed, and you have been officially removed as CEO.”

Thalia grabbed his arm, her eyes wild. “You need to fix this right now!”

He turned on her, his face dark. “Fix it? You were the one who kept telling me she was a nobody!”

Thalia’s face twisted in malice. “You were the one who constantly said she was weak!”

I almost laughed, though it caused my ribs to burn.

That was the extent of their hollow love: two villains looking for a place to hide.

The loud sound of police sirens echoed across the estate grounds.

He looked at me then, truly looking at me, as if he were seeing a human being for the first time rather than an object he owned.

“Please,” he whispered. “We can sit down and talk about this.”

“You whipped me twenty times because your mistress whispered a few lies in your ear,” I said. “There is nothing left to say.”

His voice cracked. “I was just angry.”

“You were cruel,” I reminded him.

“I will give you anything you want,” he begged.

“You already gave me everything I needed,” I replied.

He stared at me, confused.

I lifted the divorce folder from the floor, opened it, and dropped the legal pages one by one at his feet.

“You gave me the proof, you gave me the motive, and you gave me the witnesses,” I said. “You gave me my freedom.”

Thalia suddenly scrambled toward the side door, but Maya spoke without even looking up.

“Ms. Gray, I would strongly advise against leaving. Investigators are currently reviewing the illegal transfers made to your boutique account from these corporate funds.”

Thalia froze in place.

The triumphant pregnancy smile completely vanished from her face.

“You have no way to prove any of that,” she whispered.

Maya tapped the screen once. “We already have.”

When the police officers finally entered, he did not even try to resist. He simply sank into one of the velvet chairs, his face blank and his hands trembling uncontrollably.

The same grand hall where he had tried to humiliate me became the location where he was read his rights.

Thalia started crying first, followed by him.

I did not shed a single tear until my father walked through the front doors.

He bypassed everyone, took off his heavy cashmere coat, and wrapped it around my shoulders without saying a word. Then he held me just like he did when I was a child and had scraped my knee in the garden.

Only this time, the internal wounds were much deeper.

But so was the healing process.

Six months later, his entire holding company no longer existed. The clean assets were absorbed by our family firm, the criminal records were handed over to the prosecutors, and he faced a long prison term for fraud and physical assault. Thalia sold every one of her fake luxury bags just to pay her mounting attorney fees, only to find that no wealthy men wanted to be associated with a scandal involving massive debt.

As for me, I returned to our main office, not as a hidden daughter or a quiet wife, but as the Chief Strategy Officer.

At my first major board meeting, my back still carried the faint, jagged scars.

I wore a crisp white silk blouse anyway.

I did not wear it to hide the marks.

I wore it to remind myself that I survived the night they mistook my silence for weakness.

When my father asked me if I wanted to pursue further revenge, I looked out over the city glittering beneath our tower and simply smiled.

“No,” I said. “I finally have the peace I deserve.”

THE END.
